Faris Scherwiz is a protagonist of Final Fantasy V pirate captain having sea dragon Syldra as an alternate source of power for her ship.

Faris was born under the name of Sarisa Scherwil Tycoon being daughter of King Alexander Highwind Tycoon and an unnamed queen. During sail across the sea she was lost and pirates found her. Because she was very young at the time, her bad pronunciation dubbed her name of Faris.
