Blackmoon Prophecy[]

Prior to the events of the game, Darnecles existed in the Esper World. After the Archareons merge Gaia with the Esper World, Darnecles exists as a small independent state in the kingdom of Branch. King Vale rules peacefully from Darnecles Castle and greets Vahn Vainstrong when he arrives to meet with Hans. Due to Darnecles being separate from Vahn's conflicts, King Vale never involves himself in the party's conflict to a great degree.

Between Blackmoon Prophecy and Blackmoon Prophecy II[]

Due to Carwen Berona's desire to fully incorporate all of Branch's lands into his own territory, Beronian rebels attack Darnecles Castle multiple times in an attempt to capture it. After several failed attempts, and several years after the death of Carwen Berona, peace is finally acheieved when the Republic's leader Soren Berona and King Vale sign a treaty allowing Darnecles to exist as its own entity within the Berona Republic.

Blackmoon Prophecy II[]

King Vale continues to lead the state of Darnecles, which now rests within the present day Berona Republic. Relations with Berona remain rocky, though Emperor Alduin Vainstrong of Ivalice and King Vale openly trade between their kingdoms and are close friends.

Trivia[]

  • In Blackmoon Prophecy, speaking to King Vale after defeating Omega will cause Diamond Weapon to appear in the Darnecles Desert.
